Davidson vs. Rhode Island 8 p.m. CT ESPN2
Davidson is for sure the much better team in this one. But one glaring weakness when you take a look at their schedule is they have dropped some real head scratchers on the road this year. They have lost @ Wake Forest (ranked 175th on KenPom), @ St. Josephs (ranked 200th), and @ Massachusetts (ranked 222nd). For whatever set of reasons they just don't get up for road games they should be winning.
I think the line is everything we need to know in this game. The oddsmakers opened it at Rhode Island +2 and that has been bet down to a pick 'em or +1 depending on where you shop. When looking at this matchup on paper you think that Davidson is a lock at that number and I think thats exactly what the oddsmakers want you to think. Begging you to take Davidson. We will take the home team tonight to get up for a big Friday night conference tilt.
Pick: Rhode Island (whatever number you can get them at)

Chicago Bulls vs. Orlando Magic 6 p.m. CT
If you read yesterdays column you will see that one of the picks was the Suns vs. Cavs over because both teams are losing teams, have no interest in winning, and will have no engagement on the defensive end. The same concept applies to this one.
This pick is more contingent on the Bulls. The Bulls are on the outside looking in of the top 3 worst records in the league and they need to sneak into that top 3 if they wish to have the highest chance of landing that number 1 overall pick in June's draft. A good way to ensure that would be making sure that they allow like 200 points a game which would help us tonight, and help them get Zion. Their defense is already bad to begin with and they have a few guys on their roster that can score the basketball in Porter Jr., Lauri Markkanen, and Zach Lavine. The Bulls have gone over the number in 3 of 4 games since acquiring Otto Porter Jr. Let's get another one tonight.
Pick: Over 217.5
